Okay let me just start out by saying that i give this book 3 1/2 out of 5. That's not to be taken as i see it as a mediocre book, on the contrary I'm going purchase the sequel, and maybe the others in the series.
This book is about Jax and Riley... or Pepper as I wanted to refer to her when writing this entire Review (read the book ;D ). Anyway this book follows the start of their relationship.
While this book is only short it manages to pack a ton of content in without feeling rushed.
However, i did only give it 3 1/2 stars and that is because i HATED the first few chapters. I loved the book as a whole but those first few chapters were so difficult to power through with quotes such as
'His voice was hauntingly beautiful, each verse devilishly raw and sublimely angelic'
Now I don't frown on description but it seems a little piled on.
After the first few chapters though it was great, not only did Ms.West manage to create a tension and chemistry between them she managed to avoid most of the cliche's we see Sexy Romance writers fall into and i loved this book for that.
One of the other things I loved about this book was that it wasn't all about sex, in fact, I felt like the amount of sex-related stuff in the book was just right, it wasn't constant but it wasn't lacking either, there was also a focus on emotion and Jax wasn't a Man-Whore either (well not completely) and this i found to be the nicest difference between this book and some others.
i wanted to read a hot romance that was slightly Reckless and that's what Ms. West delivered in this book, it was a Romance at it's core with an east to understand, but complicated in its appearence (read to find out ;) ), story that i think Romance readers out there will enjoy.
